hi everyone
we are back from japan and fuji rock. we are also back from tour with blue october and switchfoot. there are pictures from all of these places at our Myspace page and our Facebook page.
this thursday i am singing and playing 3 tom petty songs here in NYC at the bowery ballroom. it is petty fest, 2009. guys from the strokes, fountains of wayne, lemonheads and a bunch of other people will play, too. we did it last year at mercury and i had a great time.
also in new york….next week you can see jason and i play with scout at brooklyn industries’ brooklyn location on smith st on thursday night. and on friday i am playing my first ever show as/with hurricane bells at pete’s candy store in williamsburg. hurricane bells is the name i have given to a new project/record i have recorded. check it out HERE. Falcon and our good friend nic brown will also be there.
ok….see you soon.

aloha from nyc
most of us are home now. there has been quite a lot of driving lately, with bobby now driving an unbelievable 2200 miles to get home from el paso, TX.
the last few shows were good, and we have had a great time hanging out with both blue october and switchfoot.

in seattle we stopped at a guitar center and found shannon and i in guitar world. we also ate at jason’s restaurant and i got incredibly sick afterwards…

in LA keith got a tattoo in hollywood and we hung out with old friends, by the pool. we also found our other car…

in vegas, jason rode the short bus…..and in san diego we played the most beautiful beach ever, with a wave pool?! and a rollercoaster. i went twice…

before the last show, keith perfected his stand up comedy, and we took pictures to remember who all of these guys were…

now…..we rest.

greetings from idaho…
we are back from japan, and my body is still trying to settle into US mountain time. fuji rock was a lot of fun…we played in the morning in a tent to about 5000 people. i took a polaroid of the crowd, looking very japanese.
we spent a night in tokyo, going to zazous, kiddyland and korean bbq. then a day of sightseeing in kyoto with our friends. beautiful stuff.

yesterday we played on the lake in salt lake city….i took another polaroid of the sunset over the salt flats and the lake.
everyone is doing well….jason got his coffee in japan, keith found a house he liked, and we also went to denver in there, too.

in pittsburgh. last night was our last show with blue october. the club was really shitty and we played amidst a torrent of rain falling onstage from the leaky roof. poor keith got water down his back, and nearly electrocuted himself for good measure. after our set the fire marshall appeared and shut down the show. blue october did not play a note…
but they did play for some fans outside on the sidewalk, and afterwards we hung with them until their bus call. those guys are great, everyone on the tour has treated us so well and we can’t wait to see them again.
on to buffalo…..oh buffalo….

just woke up in seekonk, MA. i am not sure where i am…and i have never heard of seekonk before.
show in new york was great, what a good time. shannon resurfaced to play guitar, and peter katis came to hang out as well. it was like a family reunion, where uncle jason drank a little too much…….
last night in providence was good…lupo’s. i remember a different lupo’s, from years ago. this one looks a bit like a high school theater from the stage. i kept thinking we were at a battle of the bands to determine which of us was going to play at the prom. jeremy from blue october came out again to play on “life is wrong”, and i went out and sang “into the ocean” with blue october and spilled a beer all over the stage.
the crew at the club was completely apathetic and inept and they had signs posted all around like this one. it was a classy joint.

still, we made it through and had time to take advantage of their lightning bolt decor in our dressing room. heavy metal!!

ps: it’s keith’s birthday!
